That's All Folks

Watching this hit not only took the air out of Kurt Warner but took some air out of me. With all the talk surrounding Warner about retirement, especially with his intimate relationship with concussions, I instantly thought Warner was headed for another concussion and ultimately retirement.

Now that the loss as officially sunk in for me, I hope Warner does not retire from the NFL. It would be nice to see him back for another year but that is pure selfishness from my behalf. If he decides to retire and leave professional football for good, I'll have one of those tearjerking moments but I would completely understand.

Kurt Warner has always stood by the "there is more to life than football" motto and I couldn't agree more.

Manning Who?

Who predicted the Giants would win? Not me! I had my man, Kurt Warner, leading the Cardinals to victory on Sunday.

Looking ahead, Warner has the chance to win 5 more before hitting a real opponent in week 13 when they face Farve and the Vikings. Not sure if Farve will be effective when week 13 rolls around but with him, I never count him out. Just hope the Cards don't take their opponents lightly and look to week 13.

Go Warner.

Curse

Week 2 is in the books and it seems like I'll be having another up and down season like last year. While Warner is throwing complete passes Bulger is sitting around figuring out what happened to his career and the Rams organization.

Going through last year with the Rams was tough and it just seems there is some weird curse going on when Bulger and the Rams take the field. It would explain a lot if there was a curse or some sort of paranormal activity going on while my favourite team is being destroyed on the field. Can someone please step up and grab a win in the next 2-3 weeks. Once they earn a win I think a few players will relax and play without having to force every move.

The Cardinals seem like they will have a battle to earn top spot in the NFC West with the Seahawks and the 49er's playing good ball to start the season. Still early but if the Madden Curse isn't real I see some big time numbers for the Cards (Warner, Boldin, Fitzgerald and throw in Hightower) and their aerial attack. Anyone worried Warner won't hold up to the grind of another NFL season? To be honest, I'm a little worried but with proper pocket protection he should hold through.

My Main Man

Warner goes deep foooorrrrrr Bruccccceeeeeeeee!!!

That could be a reality if the meeting between Warner and the 49ers becomes more than just a meeting, oh by the way it included a physical and the full 100% VIP treatment.

I would be the first to say that Warner and Bruce being reunited would be a great scene and something that would bring back memories but it doesn't make sense for either player. Warner in the 49ers offence is like me playing forward on a soccer field. He needs WR's, Boldin and Fitzgerald, and an offence where running is not the primary choice.

It is sad to hear that the Cardinals are not giving Warner what he wants especially after what Warner gave to them in that amazing run to the Super Bowl, which in my mind should have ended with a title. Apparently, the big roadblock standing in the way is money. Warner is asking to for around $14million and the Cardinals are willing to part with around $10million.

That is so sad.

The Cardinals who seemed to have finally taken a step out of the basement are not willing to spend that extra $4 or so million to sign and maintain the nucleus to their team. Yes, without Warner they are going to be terrible next year and will return to the be the laughing stocks of the NFL.

Just think about how much money Warner brought in with the playoff games, merchandise, and maybe even some new sponsors. The $14million you throw at Warner will be paid for with the things mentioned above.

In a world where the economy is in shambles and people can barely pay their mortgages people will stand and say that the NFL is hurting. Look, they are not hurting. They have the money to shell out and hiding behind the economy excuse is full of crap. We all know that the NFL is comparable to religion and good or bad home teams sell out, it is just a fact.

I truly am sad to hear about how the Cardinals are treating their saviour, yes their SAVIOUR, because without Warner they would still be just another team in the NFL. Think about how this one event could shape the future for the Cardinals. If this situation goes from bad to nuclear the Cardinals organization may not recover for another 20-30 years. Free agents and rookies will not want to sign or report to the Cardinals because of they treat their players. Why would I want to sign with a team that treats their players as if they showed up late for practice and only put in 50% effort.

Warner is a guy you need to sign and pay because without him the Cardinals are going to be nothing more than a team that had a nice run to the Super Bowl.

QB & WR

My love of the passing game, as evident with my love with Warner/Bruce/Holt, is something always keep an eye on during any NFL season.

The Colts are apparently going to release WR Marvin Harrison and break up the Manning/Harrison duo that put fear in the eyes of defensive coordinators around the league. In the past two seasons, Harrison has been suffering injuries and this was inevitable. With the economics of the NFL and the need for salary cap space it was a no doubter. Hopefully Harrison can find a team that can rejuvenate his career.

Throw him with Bruce and Warner. Wow, that would be amazing to watch. Well, not anymore but it would look great on paper. I am such a sucker when it comes to the passing game.

Two Feet in Bounds

The big game is over and it ended in a way that I could never have imagined in a 100 lifetimes.

As I prepared myself to take the path of ignoring, hiding, and basically running away from everything that would giveaway any details of the Super Bowl I had a vision, Kurt Warner walking off the field having conquered his second Super Bowl. Too bad it all came crashing down.

For two days I sheltered myself from anything that had a remote chance of giving away the score and winner of the big game. I wanted to see every play for as if I was watching it live. I currently live in a place where the time zone is different and well, people just don't like watching the NFL. It was an experience that was difficult to go through especially since my team left the field losers after Holmes kept both feet in bounds after Big Ben lofted the ball into the endzone.

If this was a few years back I would have high expectations that Warner could lead his team back to the Super Bowl and maybe win another one but at this point in his career and the mechanics of the NFL with parity among teams, I have to come down to earth and look at this through realistic glasses. Kurt Warner may have seen his last Super Bowl.

I hope he lands on a team that will give him the legitimate tools that he can use to build a road to the Super Bowl. If Warner ends up playing for a team that is in between QB's, I would just be left with a terrible taste in my mouth. Sorry Matt Leinart but I hope Warner stays in Arizona. They have the tools to make another run only if they can find a way to solidify their defence.

After taking his team to the playoffs and then winning the wild card game, Kurt Warner has taken the Cardinals to a place they have only dreamed of, one win away from playing in the Super Bowl. For all the skeptics out there that were proved wrong I laugh in your face. Yes, the game wasn't truly won by the Cardinals but more so lost by the Panthers with their stupid turnovers. The fact is Warner and the Cardinals still converted their opportunities into points which in the end is that matters.

At the end of the day, my man Kurt Warner, will find himself playing for a chance to appear in the Super Bowl after 9 years since the last time he hoisted the championship trophy.

Playoffs is the Norm

As I finished celebrating Kurt Warner leading his Cardinals past the Falcons in their Wild Card game I was shocked to see the score of 23-17 with the 23 sitting beside the words San Diego. For the past few years I have always thought of Manning as a guy that would just, at least, cruise into the Conference Finals and maybe land himself in the Super Bowl but this year Manning and the Colts didn't have it to fend off the Chargers.

Reading more information about the Colts and their head coach I found out that Mr. Tony Dungy is a playoff god. In an age where the NFL is the epitome of parity, reaching the playoffs in 10 straight years while sitting in the head coaching chair seems like me winning Super 7 or Lotto 649 (just imagine). Apparently, Mr. Dungy is pondering his place in the NFL and if he is ready to hang up the clipboard and enjoy life as a retired NFL Head Coach.

Even with the likes of Peyton Manning as his QB there was plenty of turnover in other positions that could have ended or disrupted his 10 year playoff streak. But no, he managed to get his team to act as one and follow a game plan that seem to have worked. The NFL is not a league where you have a team made of all-stars. It is impossible to do with the restrictions on salaries and of course big ego's but Dungy made things happen. Just look at the Dallas Cowboys. They were suppose to be Super Bowl contenders at the beginning of the season and they didn't even make the playoffs! It takes more than a few superstars to find your team in the playoffs and it seems Dungy knows that secret sauce.

If Dungy does retire it ends a streak that seems most will not come close to achieving. Come on, 10 straight years and 10 playoff appearances, absolutely nuts!

Warner Goes Deep

Kurt Warner and the Cardinals were victorious in their Wild Card game and all I have to say is, "BOOOOO YAH!!!"

The Cardinals defeated the Falcons 30-24 with Warner throwing for 271yrds with 2TDs. As Warner is proving, age has nothing to do with great performances. I have always stood by Warner because I always knew that if the right team was put together where the front line would block and give him time he could easily find an open receiver. Kurt is a pocket QB and I hope he takes the next week to rest because he is now in a Divisional game.

There is news that Warner and the Cardinals are far a part with respect to a contract for next year but at this moment all I care about is next weekend.

Another 395yrds

Kurt Warner just threw for another 395 yards in a victory over their division rivals the Seahawks. This performance gives Warner his 4th straight 300+ yard passing game and his 6th this season.

MVP talk is in the air and with the Cardinals holding the top spot in the NFC West, with a 7-3 record, Warner should garner plenty of MVP talk if he continues his assault through the air.

I just hope the offensive line doesn't tire as the season goes on because without protection Warner is one of the most useless QBs out there. Have you ever watched this guy try to run?

Next up is one of his old teams, the G-Men. Another 300+ yard game?

Kurt Warner

Ever since the year that Kurt Warner took over for the St. Louis Rams and started the "Greatest Show on Turf" back in 1999 I have always been watching and following Warner. When he was ousted from the Rams by Bulger and moved to the Giants and then to his current team the Cardinals, there was always something that drew me to him. I love the passing game, I love the movement of the ball, and mostly I love the way this QB works.

He's had his problems with sacks, INTs, fumbles, and just carelessness with the ball but when he is protected and given time, Warner can throw a football through a tire 30-40 yards down field, while the tire is moving.

After winning the NFL MVP in 1999 and 2001, while adding a Super Bowl MVP and championship ring in 1999, it seems he is on pace for another MVP quality year. So far, he has 2431yrds passing, 16TDs, 6INTs, and a QB rating of 104.2 after 8 games.

With 8 more starts to go he is on pace for 4862yrds, 32TDs, 12INTs, and a 104.2QB rating. This looks pretty eerie when you compare these numbers with his MVP seasons of 99 and 2001.

1999 - 4353yrds, 41TDs, 13INTs, and a 109.2QB rating
2001 - 4830yrds, 36TDs, 22INTs, and a 101.4QB rating
2008 - 4862yrds, 32TDs, 12INTs, and a 104.2QB rating

The Cards are 5-3 and stranger things do happen. Can the Cardinals make it to the Super Bowl and maybe bring home another ring for Warner. I sure hope so!

For all of you who thought or currently think this guy sucks, well you are retarded. Go out and see a player that has been able to hold this kind of success and quality of play over a span of 10 years. He's had some rough patches with injury and being sidelined to help rookie QB's (Manning and Leinart) but it seems he always finds his way back to the starting gig because he is a proven winner. Pretty hard to find in this day and age.

Maybe it is finally the time for me to grab a Warner jersey.
