Looking at shoes from the past (modeled from the past) seem to always bring up some sort of nostalgia but makes me feel the years go by a little too quickly.

4 to 5

So, Kobe Bryant and Nike have just introduced the Kobe V's. Hmmm...wait. Didn't they just introduce the Kobe IVs? Is it me or is it people just keeping coming out with shoes/shirts/jerseys just for the sake of making more and more money? I know this is capitalism at it's finest but coming out with a new product every month (exaggeration) is a little much.
Also, what is the deal with low's these days? The reason, in my opinion, recreational ballers out there shouldn't buy these shoes and play in them is simple, we do not tape our ankles when we play. Kobe and all the other NBA players out there can use low's because their ankles are already taped to the extreme. They honestly don't need any more support with a high top shoe. On the other hand, recreational players need the extra support from high tops because they don't have the benefit of a trainer taping their ankles up before hitting the court.
Nice shoe but for playing ball as an average Joe, this might not be the greatest shoe out there. Go out and buy a high top and keep those ankles injury free.

Shoes
Simple shoe with a simple colour scheme. Nike Air Max 90's is a pair I would love to add to my closet. Would be nice to see a littler more yellow on the shoe. Maybe the swoosh?
Chocolate Lacoste shoes. Not a huge fan of high-tops or mids but this shoe seems to grab my attention.

Fuel the Addiction
Finding a way to improve something may be as easy as putting two great things together. Adding the Jordan brand with the AF1 was something I didn't think was going to be a good idea but after seeing this, I'm not totally against it. I would have preferred Nike to keep the two brands in their own worlds but it isn't the worst thing to hit the market.Looking forward to adding this to my list of shoes.

Another AF1 Post

Ever heard of KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)?
The classic AF1 has always been a staple in my closet and for some reason whenever I see a new colour scheme, for the AF1, I am usually impressed by how simple the shoe is. The designers seem to keep it simple and that is rarely seen in this day and age where going over the top is what most people have on their minds. It is funny how much time I devote towards the culture that surrounds sports because with all that time I devote I could be doing something "productive" with my time. Ah well, this habit won't be slowing down anytime soon.

What is up with the strap going across the laces? I bet it gives more support but it just looks out of place. I like the white mesh, plain and simple but something I would definitely not purchase.

Brands
Nike and the partnerships they have with mainstream players around the world seems to grow by the second. The more people who they recruit the more it makes the company visible to their customers. Kobe Bryant seems to be throwing out commercial after commercial for Nike and this time, some haters of the Ankle Insurance commercials, might be satisfied with this new Nike ad.

AF1 Supreme

For those of you shoe nuts out there, which includes me, Nike is about to release a pair of AF1's (Air Force Ones) in about a week in HK and Shanghai. Man, there are times when I wish I had the money to spend on more shoes but it seems the more shoes I buy the more shoes I want.
The colours go with the time of year, Chinese New Year, which is on Jan. 26 of 2009.
It seems the cycle will never end especially when I constantly browse the web for the latest releases.
